An absorbent article having a front end region, a rear end region, a central region disposed between the front and rear end regions, a fluids source area, and a transverse axis and a longitudinal axis, the absorbent article comprising: a topsheet; a backsheet; an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet; and a reinforcing structure, the reinforcing structure including two or more traverse reinforcing elements which are formed by two traverse channels; wherein each of the two or more traverse reinforcing elements formed by two traverse channels cross a longitudinal centerline and form inwardly convex ellipses, wherein each of the respective two traverse channels forming one of the two or more traverse reinforcing elements cross the longitudinal axis, and wherein at least one of the two or more traverse reinforcing elements is not located in the central region.
