Machinery supplier Andritz is strengthening its position in the paper and tissue segment through the acquisition of A.Celli Paper, a supplier of machinery and key equipment for the production of tissue, paper and board grades. In 2020 A.Celli Paper widened its portfolio of winders, rewinders, systems for roll handling and packaging, as well as tissue machines and services by the acquisition of PMT.
A.Celli Paper is headquartered in Lucca, Italy, and operates additional locations in Pinerolo, Italy, and Shanghai, China. It achieves annual revenues in the range of €70 million with a team of more than 100 experts.
“This strategic move is driven by our commitment to providing comprehensive, innovative solutions to our customers," says Alexander Wassermann, executive vice president paper & textile, Andritz. "It expands our capabilities in key areas such as winding and rewinding technologies, making us a leading full line supplier from fiber to the packaged paper rolls, while also strengthening our service business.”
Alessandro Celli, shareholder of A.Celli Group, adds: “In its 80-year history, A.Celli Paper has developed a wide portfolio of products and services through investments and innovation. This has been made possible by the commitment of our family and our employees. Joining a multinational organization such as Andritz represents an opportunity for A.Celli Paper to further develop and grow in the tissue and paper market. Despite the change, the priority remains to ensure business continuity and excellent service to our customers.”
Andritz is expanding its paper and tissue business through the acquisition of A.Celli Paper. A.Celli Nonwovens, together with the other companies of the A.Celli Group, remain in the ownership of the A.Celli family, independent and active as usual.
