Drylock Technologies has received The Grocer Gold “Supply Chain Initiative of the Year” award for its innovative Drylock Train project. This initiative involves a dedicated freight train using a 1300-kilometer rail link to transport raw materials and finished products between Belgium and Czechia. The project removes over 5000 trucks from the road yearly by transporting 88 containers via rail every week.
In less than a year since its launch, the Drylock Train project has achieved a 10% increase in palletization efficiency and a 75% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to standard truck transportation. These impressive results are a testament to Drylock Technologies’ commitment to sustainability and operational efficiency.
The Drylock Train is just one example of Drylock Technologies’ extensive portfolio of logistical sustainability initiatives. The train has already doubled capacity since its launch and the initiative is being expanded to other regions. Additionally, Drylock Technologies is exploring new projects to further enhance palletization and optimization.
The company is also running tests with CNG and electric trucks, and utilizing HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil), a new, clean, high-tech fuel type. For its production site in Brazil, Drylock Technologies is replacing trucks with boats to further reduce its environmental footprint.
At Drylock Technologies, innovation extends beyond products and technologies to its supply chain, continually striving to protect the environment and enhance sustainability.
