Pantex Adds Perforation Line

Posted on February 7, 2008 @ 10:57 am

Pantex International has invested €1.5 million a new  line, which perforates spunbond and SMS material for the baby diaper and adult market at a very low cost. The company has not disclosed the line’s capacity or speed but has announced that the line features a unique proprietary mechanism designed to add a protective layer that prevents superabsorbent from passing through the perforated web, thus creating a safe environment for the skin and increased user comfort. Pantex holds several patents related to the new technology.

The new, zero-emission line is also optimized to perforate materials that are made with sustainable fibers and filaments. Jim Cree, Pantex CEO, said that a commitment to sustainable technology is a key direction for the company’s future.
