Posted on December 4, 2006 @ 09:00 am

Fiberweb’s upgrade to its Bethune, SC spunlace line is complete, the company has announced. The investment, which increases the line’s fiber-type flexibility, is intended to satisfy market demand for more natural fabrics in baby, personal care and home care wipe applications. The upgrade will enable the line to produce spunlace fabrics that contain cotton and Tencel in addition to traditional polyester, polypropylene and rayon fibers. Dave Rousse, president Fiberweb Hygiene/Medical Americas said the upgrade demonstrates Fiberweb’s intention to make selected investments that meet emerging needs in the marketplace for tailored nonwovens that deliver real benefits to consumers.
