At INDEX celebrating the completion of its new seven-meter bicomponent SMS line is Italian nonwovens producer Albis. Based on Albis-Neumag technology, the new line will make products with very low basis weights, well below 15 gsm, to respond to the demands of the hygiene market. At INDEX, Albis is proudly displaying a seven-meter nonwoven roll made on this machine.
The line, which is just ramping up now, joins another SMS line, capable of making products as low as 10 gsm, in Italz as well as a large-scale spunbond-pulp-carding line in Germany.
