Koester's new FlexEar PA closure system for hygiene products is a new approach to elastic side panels featuring unique stretch, high elasticity and elongation as well as homogenous softness, according to sales and marketing director Thomas Goeller. The panels feature blocks of elasticated material as well as embossed non-elastic areas, custom-sized to customer needs, to achieve maximum softness. FlexEar PA is already being used by private label diaper makers in Europe.
Also new to Koester is FlexUpPA which is even more stretchable than FlexEar PA and is soon to be found in the European training pant market. The product is made by ultrasonic bonding an extruded film layer between two nonwovens layers.
