RKW Unveils Spunjet

At a morning press briefing, RKW unveiled its latest technology for the nonwovens industry. Based on Rieter-Perfojet Spunjet machine technology, RKW”s HyJet is a new generation of hydroentangled spunbond nonwoven. Currently the only technology of its type available in the European market, HyJet is created inline to feature the cost effective process of spunbonding with the softness of hydroentanglement.

Calling the technology a “new benchmark in our industry,” RKW managing director Andreas Kirsch explained that the technology allows RKW to switch from spunbond to hydroentanglement in a short timeframe. Among its benefits are tear resistance, hydroembossing and multiple colors. Only available for a few months from RKW, already HyJet is being applied to many applications including hygiene and medical as well as industrial areas including car covering and construction.
