Fourth Global Nonwovens Summit Taking Place At INDEXThe fourth annual Global Nonwovens Summit will take place tomorrow, Wednesday April 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at INDEX. The summit, which is invitation-only and a collaboration of EDANA, INDA in North America and Asia’s ANFA, will feature two speakers.Colin Purvis, director general of the Brussels-based International Rayon and Synthetic Fibres Committee (CIRFS), will discuss expected feedstock and fiber developments related to nonwovens applications. Mr. Purvis will focus primarily on polyester, polypropylene and viscose; but he also will mention elastane, polyamide and polyethylene developments. In addition, he will consider the probable evolution in the balance of feedstock and fiber supply and demand, and the implications for availability and cost trends. Following the speaker presentations, summit participants will break out into discussion groups, arranged to include a mix of geographic and sectoral representatives, to discuss and propose three schemes for non-commercial joint efforts. Over the past four years, the GNS has provided a useful forum for senior executive within the nonwovens and related industries to build up and enhance good working relationships and to learn about each others' issues and topics of concern. |
